Sensor Chemistry

Based on proprietary IP and technology we develop all the components of the sensors ourselves. This includes both the sensor
dyes and the porous membrane, into which our dyes are immobilized.

All our sensors are fast responding, and include reference signals that allows precise measurements and pre-calibrated sensors.

Our dyes are tailor made to emit within defined wavelengths upon interaction with specific analytes. We can control the polymer
composition of the membrane allowing defined size of analytes to enter and thereby low response time
for any purpose. This means that sensors can be customized for a wide range of applications:

  • Sensors with specific pKa values
  • Broad pH-range sensors
  • Combined pH- and DO sensors

The molecular structures of the sensor dyes are very robust, and the controlled manufacturing process of the dye/polymer
sensor materials results in a uniform homogeneous and reproducible sensor spot. The base of the sensor
spot is a micro-structured foil, which nicely integrates into the sensor spot, reinforcing the structural
integrity and makes it easy to handle.

We ensure that FRS-sensors do not drift, bleach or leak and can be gamma sterilized.

Furthermore, the sensors come pre-calibrated, an installation calibration may be performed for high precision applications.

Optics

The FRS-transmitter has state-of-the-art optics. As a result, the FRS-spots can be read in a brightly lit room, in natural
light, as well as in the dark. The optical layout also allows for continuous operation of the same FRS-spot
for months without compromising sensor performance. FRS-transmitter is based on full spectral resolution
allowing to read all current and future FRS-spots with a single hardware unit.
